Every winter, historic St. Augustine welcomes the holidays with a wonderland of three million twinkling lights for the St. Augustine Night of Lights Festival. Lining the charming old buildings and cobblestone streets, the warm glow of white lights adorns the city from rooftop to entryway. Centrally, the Plaza de la Constitución features a gorgeous holiday tree. Illuminated oak trees surround the holiday tree, all within walking distance of the White Room.
Originally, the festival began with the Spanish tradition of displaying a white candle in the window in the spirit of Christmas. Today, St. Augustine Night of Lights Festival has been nationally recognized as one of the most dazzling displays of holiday lights- even appearing in National Geographic’s “Top 10 Places to See Holiday Lights” list!
Our historic city is magical all on its own, but the St. Augustine Night of Lights festival is truly unforgettable. Running from the weekend after Thanksgiving through the last weekend in January, it is the perfect time for an enchanting winter wedding. White Room guests can enjoy the dazzling display from our Rooftop, or from the balconies of our Villa Blanca and Grand Ballroom.
For a winter wedding full of holiday cheer, treat guests to spirited Actions Stations from our extensive menu. We recommend the White Room’s Maple Plum Glazed Turkey carving station with sage stuffing or the Honey Maple Ham carving station. After dinner, delight guests with our Hot Chocolate Station! It features marshmallows, peppermints, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, hazelnut wafers, cinnamon, and nutmeg (also available butler-passed). Finish off a magical holiday evening with a Late Night Munchie of warm mini chocolate chip cookies with a shot of milk. At the White Room, every detail will ensure an enchanting and unforgettable celebration for you and your guests!
On December 27th, Matthew and Charlene became Mr. and Mrs. Barnard at the White Room, right in the midst of the Night of Lights Festival! Their Grand Ballroom Reception, complete with champagne glitz specialty linens and cool blue uplighting, set the scene for a perfect winter celebration. We love these shots from their special day.
